Those Alli pills really work!

I've been "dieting" for my entire adult life, and all I've really managed to do is slow down the weight gain. Until now. Last July I bought some of those Alli pills as soon as they came on the market. They were perscription only, but the FDA approved them for over-the-counter in July. Since then I've lost 20 pounds! It hasn't been hard at all. Usually when I'm dieting hard I feel bad and get cranky, but not with this program. If you don't have a weight problem, 20 pounds may not sound like much, but I've never come close to losing so much before, and I've tried all the different diets out there. I've never gotten the dreaded " treatment effects" - those are a problem when you eat more fat than you're supposed to. I guess the fear of them is one reason I've managed to stay with this program. Anyway, I still have a few (OK, a few more than a few) pounds to lose, but for the first time, I believe that my "goal" is something that I can actually make.
Alli is expensive, so I just wanted to let anyone who is considering them know that they do work. (I put this on the women's forum, but we may not be the only ones who might be interested in a way to drop some weight off the axles )

Lucy,

It all sounds all great like a lot of OTC drugs but I have to say this - BEFORE you start using it, talk to your doctor.

AND

If you are diabetic, or have hypothyroidism or have had kidney stones in your past really talk to your doctor or find an internist to talk to.

Depending on the person, there can be some serious complications and I strongly feel that the FDA does not do anyone any favors making some drugs OTC.

This drug is something like a statin by blocking fat, so all those vitamins will have to be taken at different times so to be adsorbed.

Wow Lucy good for you but I am wondering where the heck you lost 20lbs! You are not a big women to begin with but good for you. I am also thinking next time we see you and Sam we will only recognize you because you will be next to him and also have your cool lug nut cover earrings on! I also am amazed that you lost 20lbs and that had to have included our few days at 4-star and we all ate good there!

Thanks though again for sharing with us how long you have been using this and what it has done for you. Where do you buy this pill at? I have never heard of it before.

Thanks for the kind words, Linda! Las Vegas was by no means the only time I've indulged in more than the more than the recommeded amount of food and drink. I've still lost some inches (size 14 to 10 (or 8 in a skirt!) so I find I can really recommend this as a program that works. Greg - I agree with you about the vitamins - Alli recommends that you take a vitamin at "bedtime", but as we expeditors know, bedtime and dinner are often the same, so I take my vitamin at a low-fat breakfast, and then take Alli at lunch and dinner. As for seeing my doctor - in my experience, one sure way to be sick is to go see a doctor! I got the starter pack at either Costco or Sam's - can't remember, but you get more pills there than at Walmart. After the starter pack, Walmart is good for the refills. Lucy
