I have been on the grounds of the White House, but never inside. My questions for those of you that went inside are, was it a place of warmth, did u feel at home, were u comfy there or was it just another tourist stop on a long list of tourist stops?
Went on a tour there in 2000 before the 9-11 deal. They take you through the 1st floor and not up to where the president lives. Myself if I were president I would rather live in a hotel and commute. Very cold surroundings and if you believe in ghosts I think it's actually haunted. But that's me. It has a lot of history and if your into that you'll learn a lot.
I found the Viet Nam Memorial and Arlington Cemetary a great visit and the museums. Takes about a week to see the sites, but everyone should do it.
Yeh good comparison. The Biltmore is like the White house without the white paint. The big difference is the White House doesn't cost $50 bucks to tour.
