There is a bill on the Utah House floor, that passed out of the Legislative Committee by a 9-2 vote, that would rename the National Parks Highway after President Donald Trump. This is in response to Trump undoing the last minute abuse of the Antiquities Act by Obama just before he left office, in what amounted to a massive land grab by the federal government.
The Sierra Club is not happy, saying the President doesn't deserve such an honor for reducing the size of National Monuments (while also trying to imply the sanctity of National Monuments that are centuries old instead of the months old they really are).
But my favorite comment is from Wendy Garvin of the Utah Progressive Caucus. She said, "I don't think people are going to be willing to drive on a road with his name on it."
