Trump really did a WWE smackdown on BuzzFeed and CNN in today's press conference. Called BuzzFeed "garbage" (which they are, especially after inventing a smear story about a couple who has a show on HGTV) and told CNN, while refusing to let CNN's Jim Acosta ask a question, "No. You don't get a question. You're fake news."

You reap what you sow, I guess.

CNN's Jake Tapper (who has a byline on the CNN story) quickly rode in on a white stallion (Wolfe Blitzer) to defend and double down on CNN's unquestionable journalistic integrity by claiming they did not, as Trump claimed, publish any of the details contained within the 35-page classified document within their reporting. Tapper conveniently failed to mention that in their story they linked directly to BuzzFeed's page which detailed the contents of the document. CNN has since released a statement stating CNN's reporting was "different than Buzzfeed's decision to publish unsubstantiated memos" because CNN's reporting on the story was "carefully sourced." And, CNN's original story has been edited to have the link that previously pointed to the BuzzFeed page detailing the memos so that it now points to another story on CNN Money about how BuzzFeed's publication of the memos has drawn controversy. So, CNN is now carefully sourcing CNN as a source for news.

I thought it was hilarious that when Trump finally managed to shut Acosta up, a surprising amount of applause broke out from other reporters in the room. Tapper hasn't mentioned that, though, and oddly enough, CNN's video of the incident always manages to cut off right before the applause begins.

Another smackdown was on Big Pharma and biotech. When Trump won the election, those stocks soared, because "Controlling drug prices won't be a priority for Trump. So his election is a positive for pharma stocks and biotechs. He's more likely to look to make changes to Obamacare," said Amy Kong, senior portfolio manager with Fiduciary Trust Company International.

Fast forward to today, after very little mention at all of Big Pharma during the transition, lulling pharma into a false sense of security, literally, Trump blindsided them with...

"Our drug industry has been disastrous. They’re leaving left and right. They supply our drugs, but they don’t make them here, to a large extent. And the other thing we have to do is create new bidding procedures for the drug industry because they’re getting away with murder.

Pharma has a lot of lobbies, a lot of lobbyists and a lot of power. And there’s very little bidding on drugs. We’re the largest buyer of drugs in the world, and yet we don’t bid properly. And were going to start bidding and we're going to save billions of dollars over a period of time."

As a side note, in addition to getting skewered on Twitter, someone hacked Jim Acosta's Facebook page to show that he died on Jan 11, 2017. That's funny.

When the press get attacked .... we, The People, loose!
It was all in good fun when the birther movement was in full swing, led by Caesar himself. But now that Trump has to answer allegations about ties to Russia, all those that question must be squashed. Is it really that far fetched that Russia may have some compromising stuff on Trump? Really .....??
Putin doesn't need people to believe what he says, he just needs for people to question what the truth really is. Confusion, misinformation, distraction .... fear .... Putin wins. Same applies to Trump.

Not when it's a dishonest press that gets attacked. The press in this country (and older countries before us) have a long history of propaganda and dishonesty, and the only way for We the People to win is by attacking the dishonesty.

Buzzfeed's CEO flatly stated that in order to be transparent in their journalism, they were going to post unsubstantiated and unverifiable allegations (a.k.a. rumors and gossip) so that the American people can make up their own minds as to whether they should believe it or not. That's not journalism. That's propaganda.

Trump wasn't told about unverified Russia memo during intel briefing

And just like that a new epi pen which is a generic version shows up for 100 bucks for two instead of 600 for one. Just announced today. That should have received a metal instead of Obama and Biden giving themselves one. lol

they say Trump will get a wake up call when he sees how fast the Capital really works....reports are 6 months at the earliest for any legislation on Obamacare changes...they haven't even began the process, no draft bills...as it has to go thru system....this should really frustrate the Donald as he wants it done when he barks....unless of course he intends to break the Exec Order record and be the tyrant that is just leaving

The process has definitely started. It started informally years ago when the House voted 7 times over the years to repeal at least certain parts of it (knowing full well they didn't have the votes to actually repeal it). Each time (plus about 30 other times) they've had piecemeal replacement bills drawn up.

But yesterday (1/12/17) the Senate voted to officially instruct key committees to draft legislation by Jan. 27 to repeal it. The House has set a vote on the measure for this afternoon (with Democrats, of course, expected to oppose it).

For the most part, the bills are already there to replace it, having already been drawn up over the years, but just have to collate all of them and put them together in a single draft.

The mistake will be if the Republicans try to do this the same way the Democrats did it in the first place -- with zero support from the other party.

When any of the Democrats balk at this or that part of the replacement, they need to have their feet held to the fire in explaining why they oppose it. If it's a reasonable objection, it needs to be reasonably considered. If it's "Because you're a Republican and I refuse to work with you on this just because I'm an immature bedwetter," then that needs to be made well known, too. We the People are tired of this crap from both sides.

Agreed but all that wrangling putting it altogether will take time that's why minimum six-month window in my opinion

You remember Donald J Trump, right? The guy who isn't even President yet?

Lockheed Martin CEO Marillyn Hewson met with Trump on Friday and then announced they were in the closing stages of finalizing the deal to significantly lower the cost of its F-35 aircraft, currently estimated to be about $400 Billion (for 2,443 planes at $164 million each). He called Lockheed on the carpet last month, and then asked rival Boeing if they could give him a quote on whether they could offer a cheaper alternative to the F-35, like for an updated version of the F/A-18 Super Hornet.

Oh, and Hewson also announced that Lockheed will be adding an additional 1800 jobs Fort Worth facility, which would in turn add "thousands and thousands of jobs" across the supply chain in 45 U.S. states.

Meanwhile, Obama has been very busy mulling over whether to commute the sentence of Chelsea (Bradley) Manning.
