The trouble with my uncle, Rick Santorum

Sorry there layout but I thinking you need to read the peice again and my post

I reread the article. I see a fairly well written piece written by a 19 year old BOY. I contend that his "insights" will be either changed or tempered with age and experience. OR, he will end up like Obama with no core values or basis for his thinking.

I think his core values are better than most but what my point is ... is that he lives in different times and information is easy to get.

Information is easier to get. It is how one processes that information at different ages with greater experience has not changed. In fact, I could make a fairly valid argument that many of today's youths mature much slower that those of generations prior. I believe that this has be a trend over decades. I am talking about maturity.

But what's your point?

He's the guys nephew and he knows more about the guy that any one of us.

I think the question for you to ask yourself, can you put up with another obama type president?

Another way to say it might be:

Given the times, and easy access to information, children and young adults today, for better or worse, are far more worldly at a younger age than they were 20 or 30 years ago .........

I don't want another "Obama type". I don't want Obama reelected. I don't want Santorum elected, or Ron Paul, or Romney, or anyone else I see out there.

My point is that how I looked at my uncles, at age 19, is FAR different how I looked at them at 30. I knew about them and, one WAS a politician, I knew "better" about him than any of the voters. How I looked at his "politics" at 19 was NOT the same as how I looked at them at 30. This kid is very likely to see his uncle differently in 10 or 15 years.

Keep in mind, he is 19, rebelling against things just to assert his independence. He will grow. The rebellious age will pass. Kids his age are not that valid a source.

As said in 1 Corinthians 13:11 :

"When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I [a]became a man, I did away with childish things."
Of course, there is truth and wisdom in the above ..... but it isn't the totality of truth and wisdom either.

When that was written, one became "a man" (or "a woman") at the tender age of about 12 or 13 .....

Despite the eternal truth contained in the above proverb, we know that some folks just never seem to "grow up" ...

And this seemingly happens in not just one, but in two completely opposite ways:

Those that retain the inherent, positive qualities and attributes of a child, despite Life's unceasing attempts to disabuse them of such ....

"Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me."

And then there are those who simply remain ..... childish .... no matter their physical age ....

There is NO "total truth". My ONLY point was that, at age 19, he has views of a 19 year old. At 30, after experiencing a "bit" of life" and responsibility, his views may be different.

You are correct, many never grow up. Far more take much longer to grow up than 50 or 100 years ago. To think that a rebellious teen will feel the same at 30 as he does at 19 has never raised a kid or been one himself.

You know Paul is the fairest and by far farthest from the mat group. I also think that with the idea that there needs to be changes, I has to start with someone who is actualy stands by his ideas and not pander to polls and groups.

What is a "mat group" ?

Sorry, I don't like ANY candidate running, including Paul. I may dislike him less than the others, but I have not real use for him.

NO, I DON"T know that Paul is the fairest.

As I said before, I pray I don't vomit when I finally go to vote. It will be hard.
