The best answer isn't complicated. It's just not the answer some people want. Experts in the field have taken actual data to come to the conclusion of the best solution. Common sense has seen and known it all along.

"the advice of law enforcement and counter-terrorism experts who have explained time and again that the way to stop school shooters with the lowest amount of casualties is the combination of armed law enforcement officers assigned to schools (known as school resource officers, or SROs), and a number of school faculty and staff carrying concealed weapons."

"The Homeland Security Institute found that adding concealed carry holders to the mix reduced both response times and casualties the most of any scenario tested."

Dr J. Eric Dietz, Director of the Homeland Security Institute, has a BA, Masters and PHD in Chemical Engineering Science, was an innovator in chemical weapons, chemical weapons detection, Army power systems, and Command and Control software. He retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel. He is also a lifetime member of the NRA. He is currently also a Professor in the Computer and Information Technology Department at Purdue University. On Jan. 21, 2014 there was a shooting at Purdue University. He immediately began research on whether guns in the classrooms would prevent or mitigate school shootings. He used computer models to determine his results, and, amazingly, got the exact results he set out to obtain.

I'm still pretty sure having armed eagles at every school entrance is the solution. Umm, what was the problem.
