Keep in mind it'll take at least one year of total frustration to learn any one carrier and how to work the system to your advantage...It is do able...don't let the doom sayers get you down..avoid them at all cost for the first year.;)

Don't be one of them who jump after every 3-6 months. It takes longer to get to know what and where the regular customers are and the shipping trends....I would also go with one of the bigger carriers first...They have a national customer base and can usually get you rolling. A smaller carrier usually is more locally based and once outside their domain are lost. Once you "learn the ropes" then maybe if you feel the need, you can explore other carriers that suits your needs.

Good Luck...

BTW... x06col is a very good source of info..while he is a little course around the edges and not politically correct at times...he will never lie to you...a straight shooter.

It takes longer than a year to learn the quirks of a shipping company and they change all the time. We are most of the way through our 5th year in this business and we are just now starting to see the true results of our work.

We read everything that we could in here, talked with drivers from as many companies as we could, listened to others as they talked about their mistakes and tried to learn from them. We passed on many of our mistakes so others could benefit from our goof-ups. Take your time in your research, you should not be in a hurry.

I was setting a minimum baseline there ole Layout....It'll take a year MINIMUM before one will see any real money...

It all depends if that "change" is like U.S. "sandwich" coins, or, solid gold or silver coin. None of the "folding" money printed in North American has any real value, it is all just fiat money. It is in reality not worth the paper it is printed on. There that should depress you!!! :p

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! :)

Well Christmas is over before it got here. I was impressed with the fact that new guy has been doing his thing for an extended period and (assumeably) dealing with unortidox hours while performing. Additionally, there was no extensive concern about goofy extremely unimportant things like a ramp for some overweight dog, or, questions (where they get the "right" answer) bout pay, time on the road, etc.

However, the colors came out the first pm, by using that middle word in l"if"e.

So the world turns.
