Or any guy in the Military serving along with women who get to serve even though they're not required to register for selective services like their male counterparts.

Yep, that's the American way...Equal rights for some.

I have no problem with a male only draft as long as it means a male only military. If women want to serve, they should be subjected to the same requirements their male counterparts are held to.

You'd think there'd be a court challenge to that some where?

That was recently disgussed in here somewhere. It has to do with Supreme Court rulings and how Congress wants to word the law. It's been revisited several times by the military, the executive and legislative branches of government since the law went into effect, and some changes have been made along the way (the most recent being selective service for critical medical personnel).

Technicalities aside, the issue is the rationale(or lack thereof) behind this double standard in which women get the same opportunities to enlist without the same obligations men face with respect to registering for the draft.

This issue was discussed in a previous thread, however, it happens to tie in with the premise of the book in this thread.

I am a woman that does not want to fight in the war due to my age now...but I agree, if a man has to register why don't a woman...equal rights!

It is not fair to men especially if a woman wants to be treated fairly!

Also, this goes for all men that live in america and takes advantage of our goods! Register!

In addition, this goes out to women from another country that move here to the us...the same rules that we live by you should abide by the same instead of hiding behind your family/husband/religion!

Do not be a problem be the solution!

Yes, I'm well aware of the issue, and of how many people view it. It was the exact same issue when the law was written, and challenged in court, and is the reason behind every reexamination of the law by those who periodically look at it for the purpose of changing it.

As an amateur social scientist and a keen observer of human nature I am quite familiar with Dr Farrell's book and more than a few of his other writings, especially in how the book chronicles, and at the same time, plays an actual role in societal evolution by anyone reading it, particularly with respect to gender roles. The whole notion of gender equality is, more or less, a ruse, something that cannot ever happen unless and until there is only a single gender. The fact that there even exists a National Organization of Women should speak volumes as to the fallacy of equality.

Men and women's roles throughout history were well defined for various reasons, and with today's rapidly changing society (thanks in no small part to The Pill and the freedom that comes with it - I could write a book on that one alone) the roles are no longer well defined, and people are often confused about who does what and why, and who really has the power here or there. I could go on and on about the feminization of the American male where women try their dead level best to make little boys think and act like little girls (3rd grad boys are being charged with sexual harassment for kissing 3rd grade girls these days), where the primary difference between sexual harassment and flirting is whether or not she thinks you're cute, and how women want equality except when they don't want equality and they call that equality, and how pink "cause marketing" for breast cancer has relegated fund raising and awareness for prostate cancer to an afterthought, because breast cancer is somehow more important.

Gender equality will not and cannot ever happen, because the individual is what matters. And like it or not, men and women are different. They're born different, they think different, they like different things, and no amount of education, indoctrination, or political correctness will ever change that.

This is one of the key factors driving America's decline. It's also what is going to enable China to surpass this country, militarily within the next couple of decades.

I cannot imagine the United States will ever again institute a compulsory military draft. We have moved too far down the road of entitlement and the feminization of our culture. Men and women have different roles to play, but the progressives will hear none of it.

Today's self-absorbed youth would likely find participating in a Gay Pride march to be the high water mark of their civic duty. Somewhere along the way to the Liberal Promiseland, America lost its moorings. While America's youth are busy making fools of themselves, in other parts of the world our adversaries put their shoulder to the wheel and plot our destruction.

You can thank both the Retardplicans and Dumbocrats for this social engineering agenda they've had in place for about the past 50 years. The establishment wings of both parties have too much of a vested interest in being "politically correct".

Quit you're whinning !! it's still a mans world. life is not always fair, both sexes know this. It was no so much that women totaly equality-but to be recoginized like the men-to be aknowledged as a human being and not a door mat.
Many areas I agree-what good for the goose-should be good for the gander.
I like it when a man tells me I should be barefoot and pregnant-been there-done that-I'm 57 ! not the Duggarts ! barn door closed !
Do I want equal pay for the same job ? heck yeah !! Do I want you to open my car door? that would be nice.

Outside one's home-man still rules, inside the home it's my Queendom!
On another note- I say the next President should be a woman !
you men have been screwing it up for centuries ! let a woman in and do what we do best--cleaning up after you !:p
