What about the companies out there who make their straight truck drivers get their own authority so that when the trucks don't pass inspections at the weigh stations their carrier safety ratings are not affected by it. I know of companies who are running straight trucks, but when you look them up on safer web, there are no safety inspections reported and no carrier safety rating listed. Is this a legal way to get around running older straight trucks without it affecting your carrier safety rating? I know once a carrier gets below a certain safety rating brokers and other partner carriers will no longer work with them. There is a lot of shady stuff going on out there these days!
