The madness of Fergerson

Sorry, Cheri. Some of us were dealt 5 cards, while others have 2, and others 7. It is what it is.

And many still won't admit the deck is stacked.
I just saw a short vid on Youtube, where a black man recorded an encounter with a cop, in Pontiac. The cop says he was sent because someone called in about a black man walking down the street [on the sidewalk] with his hands in his pockets. This was last week, when it was COLD outside, but someone thought that 'suspicious' enough to call the cops.
Can you imagine that happening to you, in Pontiac, where you live?

The guy wasn't just walking down the street. He was walking back and forth in front of a store that has been robbed 3 times this month. It was the store owner that called the police because of a 'suspicious' character. The cop was doing his job.

The conservative image of lazy people collecting welfare [free rent, cell phones, heating, food stamps, etc] because they don't want to work is not supported by facts.
Sure it is. Look at any state or federal budget. They are littered with all kinds of subsidy programs.
The teachers' union, like all unions, does not have the final say or the ultimate power in negotiations - if they get 'too much', it's because someone agreed to give it to them.
And as long as schools are dependent upon property taxes, poorer areas will never be able to compete with more prosperous ones.
They may not be able to compete, but the poorer areas that lack property tax revenue are subsidized by state and federal money. And in some cases depending on the location, busing is in full swing. Including my own hometown. A child can live right next to the school but is bused miles away.
I agree that our poor people are affluent compared to someone in, say, Bosnia, but is that relevant, really? It sounds like "They should be glad they have anything at all to eat!"
The comments about the big screen tvs, tattoos, cellphones, etc, are a dead giveaway, because there's nothing to support that beyond the anecdotal. Which is as reliable as any urban legend. [Reagan's infamous "welfare queen" was entirely made up, too]
Sure there is. Plenty of available data on cell phones, cars, how many TV's in a home etc. That has been discussed with links here before.
WTH do "the Asians" have to do with it? Their culture is not American, [though we could sure learn some good from them], and in their own country, they certainly do commit violence & kill each other - ever hear of Tongs & Triads? :p
I don't know. The Asian communities in the US might disagree with you with regards to their culture. Bottom line as a minority group here in the US, they don't have anywhere near the issues that have been discussed in this thread.

Funny how the WHOLE story can be so different from a version edited to suit the liberal agenda. Kind of like the propaganda still being promoted that a white cop shot an unarmed black teenager without provocation while he had his hands up trying to surrender. Forget about the fact that he was 18, which is considered to be a legal adult by MO law. Never mind that he was 6'4" and weighed almost 300 lbs. It doesn't matter if he had just been caught on video committing a strong-armed robbery of a convenience store. It's OK if the autopsy revealed drugs in his system. And just for good measure, the grand jury investigation revealed that the evidence proved without a doubt that he had attacked the officer and tried to take his weapon (which is also a felony), thereby threatening the cop's life. Finally, there's the family history of criminal activity which nobody mentions - all because it doesn't fit the agenda of liberals and their lackeys in the MSM.
