A. Should President Obama come out and openly back the Green Revolutionaries?

B. Should President Obama stay neutral for now in Irans elections?

If Obama comes out and backs the party, it will be used in the country as propaganda and help the status quo stay in power. If he stays neutral and condemn the violence and only the violence, it will help the party and the people more by siding with the international community of neutrals.

You got to understand the culture and the bigger picture.

Coming out in open opposition to the Islamic Supreme Leader is not wise. If things remain the way they are, he will recognize the Greenies as having legitimate concerns, but will accept whatever the Ayatollah says, short of endorsing it.

I can't believe their isn't more interest in this, only 4 votes? Between this and the North Korean ship the Navy is shadowing right now, is in my opinion, the most important things going on in the World right now. True tests for our President. I guess people would rather argue about David Letterman and Sarah Palin.

I Believe that Obumma should keep his Nose and Our Country Out of it because we Have our own troubles and He Should Concentrate on "Trying" to Get this Country Up and Running Again. I Don't believe that he can/will do that , But He should Keep us Out of Irans Elections! If the People of Iran are that Unhappy with the current Regime then It's up to Them to Change it, Just Like It's Ours to change things in 2012!! Obumma should be Concentrating his Attention On N. Korea Right Now!!

I would have to agree with Greg on staying neutral and condemning the violence.

I would have to disagree with poorboy as usual.

This could eventualy become exactly like NK in the very near future

Obama should stay neutral in public. He should insure those rebels that we are 100% behind them and will back them in private and fund their efforts. It is in our National interest to get that mess in Iran cleaned up. Put another 100,000 troops into Iraq. Increase the size of our military to at minimum of WWII numbers. Modernize all weapons systems. Increase our intelligence capibility. THAT will calm things down and make it far less likely that we will end up in a war the likes of which we have not seen since 1945. Keep doing what we are doing and we will have to fight "The Big One"

We allowed North Korea to develope nukes. Should we then allow Iran to as well? These are NOT seperate problems. They are working together on this. Most likely China and Russia are behind it. Our answer? Gut our military.

Why focus on NK anyway, they want the attention and they have our undivided attention right now. The events in Iran are very important and it is being discounted by NK and that cr*p. He knows if he makes a move, then he has to deal with China and Japan, and Russia as I said are sitting there with troops on the border to protect their eastern ports. If he englufs the area in a war, we may see china walk across the border and clean up the mess.

There are a number of ways that democratic countries could support the revolutionaries in their attempt to overthrow the theocracy in Iran. The US needs to be involved in this, if only covertly. Let Israel act as our proxy.
