Lisa,

I understood what you were stating, it sounds like a witch hunt here or just a typical man trying to blame a woman when it was another man turning things around!

Read below!

The Inevitable Begins (MEANING - IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN!)

Due to "lack of freight, increased fuel costs making certain expeditions unavailable to profitably bid, and the cost of liability insurance", two expediters we know were "relieved" of their contracts with J.D. Clark this morning. Sign of the times? More to follow?

Can you handel the truth?

Express 1 did some cleaning up about 3 years ago...cancelled some contracts as well....most we know of were the cherry picking type, just taking up space....wasting dispatchers time...

I do know the type though. I think they shouldn't be expediting in the first place.

Her own words they shouldn't be in expediting, but she bashes J D Clark for letting them go, now I'm confused, sounds like a personal beef to me!

I have read and re-read this thread and I do not see any cyber bullying etc.

All I see is EO members asking for clarification(s) - which has not been forthcoming by the OP.

Headlines like this with no or very little information on fact is called a rumour.

Well, I need to point out another incorrect statement Lisa has made on several threads that is related to this very topic. That is that we, (EO) remove threads that are critical of our sponsors. Read it hereThat statement is so ridiculously false. Our forum contains thousands of posts critical of not only ourselves (EO) but of every single sponsor we have ever had.

This thread is proof (and 10,000+ posts) that her statement on this topic is incorrect. We think it's absolutely critical to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of any organization.

If the OP did indeed want to inform others of a possible situation they would simply post the thread and leave it there. Rather, they make it about themselves and fabricate so called personal attacks. Typical passive aggressive behavior.
And yes I realize I've just added fuel to the paranoia fire :p

Because, as it was ignorantly taken out of context, has nothing to do with the reason JD used for canceling contracts. The reasons given were spelled out in quotations in the original post. Other posters assumed JD was getting rid of drivers based on what THEY thought was the reason...this is how threads get skewered...taking one sentence out of an entire post and basing an reply on that and that alone. There was so much more to that post.

I think people just looked at the reason that was stated for the contract termination and said it made no sense to end a contract since he would not be paying the drivers to sit because there is a slow freight market. I'm sure that others believe as I do that if the company decided that they would terminate the contracts of drivers it is because they do not work and cause problems since nothing else said makes any sense.

And those were the reasons given by the carrier. Didn't say they made sense. Merely quoted the guy. Yet, shooting the messenger is the name of the game around here. Then EO powers that be are threatening to remove ME, LOLOL. Too flippin' funny,

When a driver is telling you something that doesn't make sense there is usually a good reason.:D You would have been better off just stating the things you were told and leaving names out of it. If people didn't believe you then that would be their option but when you start off being negative it looks like you are making a personal attack which puts you in a negative light and the majority of the people responding don't believe it anyway. You ended up throwing yourself under the bus.

Hmm well that stinks. One reason why I fly my own flag instead of signing on with a carrier is I have more options when it comes to finding loads. That and I am not limited to just straight truck loads. Right now I am taking a very expensive Rv to california and its paying real nice. Then if I can find anything in california to bring back to indiana Ill be making that money comming back to get another rv.

I don't understand why a couple of contracts being cancelled is news worthy. It's happened before and it will happen again. As OVM mentioned, sometimes a carrier will clean house. No big whoop...

A contractor that's a valuable asset won't have to be concerned about this.

If you go way back to an earlier post, you will see the reasons given for this driver no longer being offerred dispatch by JD CLARK. A rule I learned many years ago, is that you can not literally "fire a an owner/operator. You can merely "decline to offer dispatch services".

That is what happened, Lisa. Your driver, would only take loads 400 miles or more-nothing less. Didn't matter what the pay was. He then went out of Service for two weeks to do some side jobs. He never stayed in communication with the company when he was in service (communication: the number one factor in expediting these days). We have to pay to keep these vehicles in our system. If they are not generating revenue, the company is losing money.

Now I am sure that if you are willing to pay an up front escrow fee, a monthly satellite service fee, and a security deposit to protect any loaded freight in your vehicle, JD CLARK will welcome you back with open arms.

How do I know all this? I got friends at that company. Good decent people, over all pretty **** good drives. Move on, hun.
