The Future of the Republican Party and USA

Something that at least resembles an actual Republican ...

Meanwhile, in the background - the spineless parasite Ms. Lindsey - wriggles in anticipation ... feeding off Romney's character and integrity, almost unable to contain himself until he can get in front of the camera so he'll be "relevant" ... utterly pathetic ...
Eight GOP Senators with cooler heads.
How many Dems support this?
Btw, our Defense Dept. said they aren’t needed.

Eight GOP Senators with cooler heads.

Huh ?

How many Dems support this?

No idea.

Btw, our Defense Dept. said they aren’t needed.

They're not there on the ground.

Having said that, I can understand the caution:

Migs could potentially be used as offense weapons, to strike inside Russian territory ... broadening the conflict.

As a practical matter though, they'd first have to get through Russian air defenses before doing so. Not necessarily an easy feat.

Beyond that, they would have plenty to do just neutralizing the Putinist hordes inside Ukraine which are the most immediate threat first.

This should be an interesting election season watching the Trumpeters explain themselves.

Well, they’re real America Firsters. Instead of having Ukraine on the brain like other Republicans and Dems have.

Ok, fine.
That doesn't make it any less interested. Smh

It is interesting watching some Republicans act like the unhinged Dems that say anyone questioning why or be against getting involved with this conflict as being Putin’s puppet or a Russian asset. Illuminating to say the least. From Mitt Romney to Mark Levin, they think this is the same USSR from like 50 years ago.

It hasn't gotten to that point yet down here - all the Republican candidates for Senate are too busy tripping over themselves to just proclaim they're the True Trumper Candidate (Orange Mango still hasn't endorsed in the primary) ... and tv advertising is near constant.

It's actually kind of interesting though, in that the state has a fairly large Ukrainian community (five percent of Americans claiming Ukrainian ancestry live in the state)

Suspect the ads may get more vicious though as the primary draws closer ... particularly if any of them have praised Trump's comments on Putin.

Curious to see who eventually winds up at the top of that heap.

It's not the same.

It's arguably a whole lot worse.

Regarding the future of the Republican Party and Trump's role in it, an important indicator is the Trump endorsements.

If you do a Google News search of that term (Trump endorsements), you'll see a number of articles that show these may not be as important as people once thought them to be. Without question, they are of supreme importance in many GOP primary races. But the more important question is how will these Trump-endorsed candidates do on the general election, where the results truly matter?

We'll know the answer to that question in Nov. 2022.

This is typical primary campaign rhetoric as these candidates go after each other. It's being spun by a liberal pundit from the Yahoo "news" site in an effort to put the GOP in a bad light as the mid terms approach. We keep hearing anyone/everyone demonized who's described Putin as being "intelligent", "savvy", "cunning" or even "genius" while leaving out that all these adjectives were mentioned in the context of him being an evil barbarian. History is full of megalomaniacs just like him, and anyone who thinks Putin is a dunce does so at his own peril.

When November comes the public will have to decide whether or not they want to continue with the economic, military and social policies of the socialist Democrats, accept their vision for the country or put them out of office. Many have already made up their minds and are praying things don't get worse between now and then. The Republicans are their only alternative.

History also seems to show that such megalomaniacs respond only to force. They do not respond to diplomacy. They do not stop on their own. They are constantly looking for every additional inch they can take and will take a mile if they can.

I'm tired of watching Putin march happily along as we meet brute force with obviously ineffective sanctions. I find myself aligning with Mitt Romney's comments and those similar. Ukraine is a democracy but won't be within days if the West does not change it's pathetically weak approach.

Romney called Trump out when appropriate. He's calling Putin out now. Go Romney!
