The "E/O PEN IS" thread seems to be a moot point ...

I thought the "E/O PEN IS" thread would be the most
active of the "PEN IS" Trilogy

("The PEN IS", "Another PEN IS" and "E/O PEN IS")

I'm shocked...!!!!

But there is still time...

how many actually "PEN" something on these forums..??

What percentage (%) of "4000+" do you think
post on a regular basis..???

You know it's weird after I read Richs' reply to me in the other thread I was thinking that very thing!! Weird?? And then I opened this thread and there was the same question I was thinking. hmmmm
I would hazard to guess somewhere in the area of 100 "regular" posters which would make it about 2.5%.
Whereas since a moderator brought up the subject matter, out of 700 members maybe 15 post regularly that would be about 2.1%...not much of a difference eh?
AND if you consider THEY have a Canadian forum separate from the main forum add in another 5 members That would make it about 2.8% now that gets one thinking eh?

I was a little higher in my estimate... 3 to 3.5%

Either way, it's a VERY low % of the "4000+" membership.

Additionally, the % gets lower and lower each day
as it seems as if more new members are added daily ...

The answer to your question is clear. As you so eloquently quoted my earlier statement, that I'll paraphrase here, EO was a website started by professional expediters and kept alive by professional acting expediters for the benefit of other professionals and aspiring expediters interested in this business.

Many of our fellow members have come and gone for a number of reasons. Some learned what they needed to know, chose not to enter the business and are no longer active here. Some folks got the info they needed, entered the business and either have no computer or no longer choose to be active posters.

Most importantly, I think, are the people who would like to be active on the forum but they tired of those that constantly critisized their spelling, grammar or content of their postings. Similarly, other drivers grew weary of the soap operaesque threads of people that have nothing of substance to offer those of us who are genuinely interested in learning even more about our chosen profession.

Those of you that are reading this thread that are among the few that create unwarrented controversy, unsubstantiated claims and unnecessary criticism of other members know who you are. I for one, request you stand back and evaluate your contributions to EO and the expediting community. You surely can do better for us and yourself. by

I believe we shall now have a stop to these "Pen" posts.

In answer to your question Mr. Firegears, here is what I have found, and told people before.

A forum is like the CB. At any one time there are many people listening who never speak because they just don't like to. There are several people who WILL speak if they find a good conversation. Then, there are those 3 or 4 who jam the channel with their kickers on trying everyone listen to what THEY want to talk about.

Many people would love to talk on the CB, but get tired of hearing the same 3 guys with kickers repeating the same ol crap mile after mile...

So, they either turn off the CB, or go to another channel.

Sound familiar?

Anyway... enough is enough. Locked.
