The below starting salaries are not that great compared to a team in a straight truck and even a 3 or 4 year veteran in a van can get 60 t0 70k with a lot of work, imho.

“This is not surprising since the supply of these graduates is low, but the demand for them is so high,” said Marilyn Mackes, NACE’s executive director, in a statement.

True, but those jobs typically come with retirement, 401k, health insurance, vacation, home every night, some include secretaries, offices...

I think for most Americans it's not completely about the money, but more about the lifestyle.

College is NOT needed to succeed. Some of the best, and brightest , NEVER attended college. College educated idiots, that have permeated our congress, and the presidency, for decades, have run up a nearly 18 TRILLION dollar debt.

We need a HEALTHY mix of formal education and free thinking. I find it amazing that MOST buildings built today are designed by college DOOOOODS. And yet, they have docks that can't handle a straight truck, let alone a TT. Hallways and door ways too small for computer main frames. Driveways too small for trucks. Seems like some degrees are lacking in reality.

College? Important? Home schooling? NO good?

Henry Ford? College? NOPE

Henry Bessemer? College? NOPE

Ronald M. "Ron" Popeil? College? Nope

Bessemer was mostly self-taught who exhibited extraordinary inventive skills since childhood. He learnt mettalurgy at his father’s type foundry, helping in the production of gold chains.

Did Edison go to college?

Young "Al" Edison went to school only a few months. His teachers thought he was very slow. Afterward his mother taught him at home. He then taught himself by reading constantly and trying experiments in the basement. He never attended any technical school, college or university. In later life, he said that his mother was the person most responsible for his success.

Edison had strong opinions about education. Most schools, he believed, taught children to memorize facts, when they ought to have students observe nature and to make things with their hands. "I like the Montessori method," he said. "It teaches through play. It makes learning a pleasure. It follows the natural instincts of the human being . . . The present system casts the brain into a mold. It does not encourage original thought or reasoning."

Abe Lincoln never attended college OR law school.

College is big business. They make money by enrolling as many students as possible regardless of whether it will benefit the students.
Most people would be better off going to a trade school or a 2 year college.
Or take that $100,000.00 dollar tuition and start a business. Even if the business fails they will probably learn more than in college.
I reject your reality and substitute my own!

Kinda a comical topic for me.... I went to college for electrical engineering and the wife is a chef.... We really enjoy the traveling over the day to day grind! Our families tell us we are gypsies at heart !
