so, last week i took a connection flight form NYC back to MSP.
it was one of those low cost budget airliner.
everything went O.K, and the plane was pushed back from the gate into the middle of the tarmac.
it was one of those smaller plane with only 2 jet motors.
sitting by myself in the very back raw. i could see the pilots going over the check lists.
the slots where extended, the jet engine where roving, upper brakes was extended and retrieved, then the flaps was extended to configure the aircraft for take off, the vertical stabilizer was played with, and the jet motor roved once more.
then nothing.
we where just sitting there for about 45 min.
from where i was seated, i could not see the right side of the plane, so i had no idea what was going on, and no explanation for the delay was given over the speakers.
after some time, the whole check list procedure repeated itself, and finely the plane started it's taxi toward the far side of the runway. a long taxi trip.
the leading flight attendant made her way down the ally, making sure all seat-belts are fastened and that the cabin is set for take off.
she then just stood there next to my seat, on the very back of the plane, so i used the few minutes and asked her for the rezone of delay.
"doing the per-flight check, the pilot found a saver problem with one of the jets, and he refuses to fly the aircraft before it was fixed"
- 'and they fixed that jet engine so quickly out here @ the tarmac?' i asked.
"NO{she reply},but it did take us some time to find a pilot that is willing to fly the plane as it is"
