I know how it works, it's to much to explain to someone who's already made up his mind.
I don't know what your game plan is but I'm not falling for it. You seem to want to stir things up all the time with forum members and I'm not game.

Honestly, I wasn't intending for this to turn into a thread that would spill over to a second page. But inspite of all the hits, I still have no idea what this advertising tab is advertising--something about a total package?

Yes the forum brings huge page turns and page views all I said was you don't need a forum to have a successful web site. EO is successful because it's the primary and premier site for Expediting. It probably would not command the money for advertising it gets w/o the high ranking it has but it is still number one. Where else would you get the information you get here? The forum is a great thing for info/ but it still would be successful w/o it.
It was stated that w/out us no one would buy anything. This site would sell with or without the forum. Just my opinion and I know that doesn't mean much.

I have no game, my mind isn't made up and it isn't too much to explain. With that said I want to know how it would be a successful site without the activity of the forum based on your comment;

Greg I understand all the advertising and us buying etc, etc. The only difference is they don't need a forum to make it a successful site.

I'm not expecting a disertation on the web or anything like that but maybe just what you think or see because I would agree it would be a success if there was a reason for the visit but overall I don't see the level of success surrounding the content on the main or home page compared to the forum, there is too little original content because I see syndicated content which doesn't do much at this point.

I don't know if you noticed that the forum gets indexed (googled) and threads shows up in Google and Yahoo quickly but the home page doesn't seem to enjoy that.
