Well I decided against the $2,600/month payment and decided to go back to driving for a fleet owner. Now the disturbing part is that there is barley no one looking for panther drivers. SO I found one with fed ex cc. I've searched and read, then searched some more. But I can't seem to figure if your on the regular fleet if you will make money. I can't do WG because I got my hound dogs. So if anyone would be kind enough to answer a few questions.
1. What is the current pay rate? I know that you get a % of a load, so what %?
2. How is FSC calculated? If I get 65% of the above amount am I going to loose money over panther where I would get 60% of 1.2 + 100% of FSC?
3. The owner I talked to said his teams were doing $6000/week, is that way to high to belive?
4. Do you get fuel discounts with your comdata card at TA's and Pilot like with Panther?
5. How does deadhead, tolls, etc. work with fed ex? I read that their paying tolls but didn't say how much.
6. Are load payment negotiable?
7. Lastly, being in regular fleet do you get loads to say Alaska, Seattle , Portland, etc.? I got stuck doing north/south on I75 for weeks with Panther.
Thank you all in advance for your answers. I think we need to create a Newbie Guide to Expediting so everyone can find answers quickly but thats another post.
