Texas lawmakers put new gun rights laws in their sights

"The bill is a proactive effort to prevent even the chance of a Texas student losing valuable instruction time due to an act of non-disruptive, non-threatening behavior by a child," said State Representative Ryan Guillen, a Democrat sponsoring the bill.

Don't mess with Texas.

It is amazing how stupidity breeds in government. Just kind of takes on a life of its own.

Yep. But as long as we have students being suspended for turning Pop-Tarts into lethal weapons, we will need these brave legislators who will stand up to the teachers of our children, to educate the educators on the realities of the dangers posed by toaster pastries.

Plus, it's the equivalent of Texas calling Maryland a weenie. And that's just awesome. :D

A massive overabundance of Pop Tarts will likely lead to obesity and diabetes; however, that would be suicidal, not murderous :(

Texas calls everybody a weenie, all the time - it's one of the things they do best.
But let a little 'disaster' afflict their state, [even when it's self inflicted] and they don't waste a second hitting up the feds for aid, lol.

Can't be too hard on them. Outside of California, they give the Feds the largest chunk of revenue.
Probably don't feel too guilty to ask for some of it back.
