I am hiring a new driver, she has no truck to test in. The state of Ohio wants too much money. She needs air/auto/26GVW. Does anyone ever lend their truck and get pd? Rather give a poor expediter the money than the state. PLEASE HELP :p Thanks debidoesdiesels

Have you tried any of the rental companies? Ryder has those units, but dont know how much they want...how much does the state want to use theirs for the test? I have tractor ( bobtail will classify as the unit) but its 10 speed, otherwise I might help ya out if I was near.

Penske Rents air brakes trucks 26 foot over 26000 up to 33000 with class B license
under 26000 with regular license
I believe it is around 100 a day plus mileage
How much does Ohio charge?

is there a truck stop near testing area might want to drive by and talk to a coupple of waiting expeditors...Just a thought

Hey! that was a great movie!! Try a truck dealer that you bought the truck from. When I ordered my first s/t, they let me use a cab/chassis with no body on it off the lot to use. The Instructor was not too amused, but it worked.Great for backing around those cones, just look out the back window. The test site was on rt 8 in ohio, by Tallmadge ave.

alot of really smart people read this forum, I can tell. For everyones info she will be in a cargo van and SHE opted to get the class B. It is $150.00 in Ohio to rent a truck. We are not making enough money with vans to even cover an extra $150.00. All money per mile was cut, bonus' eliminated and dead head reduced. OK so I should get out of expediting....who wants to buy a cargo van with lots of miles, even tho well maintained??? I don't believe there are any generous kind people left. It was worth a shot to ask one of you. Thanks debidoesdiesels

So I offer my truck to help out, the test goes great except for one thing, the person hits a parked car while pulling into a parking lot. I just lost my lease and I have zero coverage because I let an unlicensed driver who is not with my company drive my truck.

Here In Ohio she will have to get a permit first then she will need to have someone go with her to the test that has at least a class b Just like teen agers now a days you get the permit then you can drive but only if you have a driver with the right qualifications for the truck you are in.
