Freightliner has shut down Slice of Trucker Life which Henry Albert was involved with and many of you know and has moved on to an more industries site Team Run Smart. The site has something for everyone and any type of truck not just Freightliners.

Team Run Smart was officially launched at GATS with the announcement of "Become a Pro" the official rules to become a pro are:


Team Run Smart Pro Driver Selection Criteria
From August 23 through September 30, 2012, Freightliner Trucks will be accepting applications from professional truck drivers to participate as a Team Run Smart Pro Driver during the 2013 and 2014 calendar years. Each Team Run Smart Pro Driver will be provided with a new Freightliner Cascadia Class 8 tractor for use during the program period.

To qualify, applicants must be prepared to offer proof of the following minimum criteria:

  • Current Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL)
  • At least three years of current owner/operator driving experience
  • No reported driving citations within the past three years
  • Demonstrated profitable operation as an owner/operator for the past three years
  • Valid and current insurance coverage
  • A safe driving history including CSA scores
The application process may also include background checks to ensure the absence of felony convictions, bankruptcy, or unpaid child support, taxes, liens, etc. As a Team Run Smart Pro Driver, you will be expected to be an active participant in the Team Run Smart program (www.teamrunsmart.com).

Team Run Smart Pros are considered industry experts who carry the upmost credibility with their peers. If you are selected, you will be asked to provide expert advice based on your experience on the road and in the business of trucking.

Responsibilities are as follows:
  • Submit two blog posts to teamrunsmart.com each week
  • Respond to all blog comments and questions within 24 hours
  • Attend one industry trade show each quarter
  • Attend two Freightliner dealer open houses each quarter
  • Actively promote the Team Run Smart program through conversation with other drivers and by distributing promotional materials
  • Team Run Smart Pro Driver trucks will prominently display the program logo, and possibly a custom paint scheme or vehicle wrap
In addition to being provided with a new Freightliner Cascadia tractor, Team Run Smart Pro Drivers will receive downtime and travel compensation for attending industry trade shows, Freightliner dealer open houses, and other industry events. Although Team Run Smart Pro Driver Cascadias will include comprehensive warranties, each driver will be responsible for costs incurred for the following: fuel, maintenance (including but not limited to tires, lubricants, DEF, and wear items), insurance, and vehicle registration/taxes. Team Run Smart Pro Drivers will also be responsible for keeping the truck clean and presentable and ensuring equipment complies with all DOT safety requirement standards.

No felons? That will probably disqualify most of us because I hear that the gov will charge all of us with interfearing with commerce after we all participate in the big shutdown
