Sorry i just do not understand were greed comes into it. Is not the purpose of business to maximize profits. Don't you try to do that.

simply, they stated that this will not limit truck parking, or in their own words " if we have 200 parking spots, we will still park 200 trucks each night" and also "it's only 5%" or" the trucking community asked for it" or try this "it will save truckers money" because they will be able to drive further and get to a secured reserved spot.
all of the above fit a mare minority of our diversified industry.
i do not trust them even a bit to keep it at 5%, not that 5% is acceptable, but they just need their foot in the door, and before you know this not only that most of all spots will be at a cost to their costumers, but in reality we wont find a reserve spot even if we wish to. most TA locations that charge per parking, well good luck finding any spot after 7 pm.
to answer your question, yahy, i have no problem with any business picking up the cost of doing business, or even charging to the nose if they think that they can get away with it. capitalizem at it's finest. but this is not the point i was making. the point i was making was about the 5% and the greed factor that will make them raze this. and the fact that the 23 hours limitation certainly did not came from any of us out there but only from corporate greed. so don't they try to sell a wolf in an lamb costume, and tell us 'we are from the front office, and we are here to help - this will be good for you' because it won't.

if you don't mind id rather not answer that, my points are not personal, as each trucker carry his own story, but keep it more on the macro level as an industry wide problem that needs to be addressed.
unlike other fueling networks TA historically ignore small business truckers input (sound familiar?), this is just one more bad business on their parts.

Gotta question. TA/Petro was just here asking how come we don't use them more. Now they do this "reserved parking" thing. I understand this probably applies more to the tractor-trailer guys than it does to straights, and so far I haven't seen vans mentioned here, but--- did it ever occur to these guys that restricting already limited parking even more just might CHASE AWAY customers??? If you can't park because the only open spots are reserved, how long exactly are you going to stay and how much money will you spend there?

I think charging vans n big trucks is a good idea to park. It would be like a country club setting. Only well to do folks need apply, thus pushing the lower class folks to mingle with their crowd at Uncle Eddys truck joint down the road. Hey, lifes a u know what.................and then again, u can park at Walmart and its free, so whats the big deal.

I kinda like that country club idea. We can all pay to park, put on our ascots and dinner jackets, set up the lawn chairs in the parking lot talk all sophisticated like ... my good man.
