I want to convert this vertical stack to a horizontal. If I add the frame brackets can I remove and reuse the vertical muffler by adding a straight or flex pipe to connect to the cut pipe and add a 45 degree outlet or will I need a new one?

Looks like its possible, however, if you are planning on re-using your old muffler, It is probably corroded to the stack and or the exhaust section that comes off from your flex pipe there...
I would probably count on using at least a new muffler... You maybe able to use your stack if you cut it down...
