What are all your opinions about T-Mobile? I am in Fountain Inn SC and when I am at Naval Base Mayport Florida and Verizon lets me down frequently in both places. My wife has a TracFone and I believe it's on the AT&T network and it works better than Verizon but still nothing to shout about. I really haven't been out west in awhile but I am go as far as Southwest MO. I also use a Samsung tab through Verizon; however, at home I straddle a 4G &3G areas so it is difficult with my hotspot.

Verizon and At&t worked better for us then T mobile ever did. I used to like them, but I'm wasn't too happy last time we had service with them. I didn't like the way they gave you 4G and then limited the amount of other data you could use. It didn't work well with being in so many different areas. I liked verizon the best, worked more places then what our current At&t does.

At Mayport Base it is interesting that the stadium used to be called Alltel Stadium and even when I had Alltel reception was bad at Mayport, less than 20 miles away and Verizon has not improved on that coverage. I am convinced that the old ad on TV "can you hear me now?" was not a Verizon Tech but an actual customer. There really is no hills between the tower and us, me thinks, that they are exaggerated about their coverage.

Oops! Sorry Big Al, I'm not sure how to help your phone get smarter, lol.
By the way I have Sprint now, some dropped calls. But it was better than T Mobile.

Ive got T MOBILE I have the Galaxy 3 Note, I drive all over the east coast and Midwest, and there are very few places it wont work, Ive used the Phone as a Hotspot to connect to my PC so I can do Business, search Maps, do email, upload and dowload files....works fine....TMobile has greatly improved there service and I have 4G LTE in almost every large city...thats fast data and quick internet...when I do get a spot it doesnt work Its way out in the Boonies...my bill is a decent 70 bucks a mo with the largest data package and Unlimited everything...check it out, the NOTE is a great phone, Large display, easy to read even when in a dash mount, has great GPS...Google Maps...its an ANDROID phone so all of the APPS are available.....I like T mobile and have had them for years.

I have also had T-Mobile for years. Pretty happy, especially with the cost, certainly ALL carriers have dead spots and issues, BUT I haven't found T-Mobile to be as bad as the Internet banter make them seem. I would at least give them a two week test drive. One thing T-Mobile does is only throttle your data speed if you go over your package limit, never any overages or data shut off at the limit.

Speaking of the Data limit, the phone has a warning if your close to this, but I have a 5 GB data limit I watch movies, surf the internet, I rarely use that entire amount, theyve never cut me back on speed ever...and if your a power user like me you can add another 5 GB for 10 Bucks a month...

We can burn through 100 Gb in a month at the house, if you stream NetFlix it doesn't take that much to get there, LOL. I don't do this on the phone though, I get 100 Gb for $50 so try to not get any overages.

I do agree with Don on the other benefits of T-Mobile. Also it looks like they just added Canadian texting and data at no additional charge and $0.20 a minute for calls while in Canada, still have to watch the calls, BUT having no additional charge to roam with the data and texts is huge. I would confirm with T-Mobile and your particular plan before trying this, but that is how I understand it works now with them.

I have been a T-mobile subscriber since the Omni Point days. I was one of the first 2500 customers Omni point signed up in NYC back in the min 90's.

T-Mo has always been very good to me. I honestly can't complain about the service. 99% of the time it works very well & the rates are very good.

Their latest come on is they will pay your early termination fee if you switch to them.

There's a free app called "LINE" which uses WiFi. You could save $0.20 a min.

Don't even need the free app with T-mobile, if on WiFi they have a built in WiFi app, at least on my BlackBerry. One of the hallmarks of T-Mobile for a long time has been their WiFi calling support. Still got to fork out some $$$ if not on WiFi however.

I may have misunderstood your post. Are you saying that in Canada, you have to pay $0.20 a min for the call? If that's the case, as long as you have WiFi, this LINE app will allow you to make free call and free text from anywhere in the world.

Of course, it will still use up your data while you are making the calls. The calls are made thru the internet WiFi signal(if you have the WiFi signal at the time of the call on your phone); therefore you wouldn't have to use the phone signal and have to pay for the calls.

You can download it and give it a shot. If you don't like it, you can always remove the app. I have used this app during the last few years to make the international calls for free. If I go thru a regular route with my carrier, I would have to subscribe and pay the international plan

T-Mobile has been a supporter of WiFi calling natively (on most devices anyway) for a good long time. My Wife has an Android phone on T-Mobile that also supports WiFi calling natively, no 3rd party app required.

I've been with T-Mobile since 2008 and I can't complain about them more than I'd do about Verizon. The weak part of their services is the net connection, if you're in a small town or village, away from a busy area, the service sux. I mean it's zero.

I believe all Mobile Phone Companies have good & bad service areas. I am on T-Mobile and live outside of Chattanooga TN and rarely have a problem. Example: One day I made a delivery to the Volkswagon Plant and could not get a signal so that I could call dispatch there at Volkswagon which is right on the North side of Chattanooga.
