SUPPLY AND DEMAND

The true problem to our fuel problem is "supply and demand" !!

It determines the market place in any free enterprise.

As long as the world demands oil, the prices will stay high.

As long as there are drivers that will/must pay these high prices nothing will change in the short term.

Don't like it? Park our vehicles too lessen the demand and the industry will either find another solution too move freight or they will "beg us to come back".

Unfortunately, there are more drivers out there looking for employment and willing too drive for minimum wage or less. Just look at the huge turnover the major trucking companies face every month (i.e., Schneider, Werner, JB Hunt, etc.)

Finally, I rarely turn on my CB radio. However, it is becoming an all to familiar sound that we hear: Imports: Yep. Here is the next endless supply of drivers. The Russians and Mexicans. People who view our wages as princely.

Sad but true.

Supply and demand. You can't stop the market place by "slowing down" on the road.

Do that and the demand will pass you by.

Just my opinion.

Be safe out there.

Yup. I did a cross dock in Cincinnati the other day and the driver of the other truck spoke very little english and couldn't figure out how to dump the air out of his air ride to match the dock. You know, we're sharing the road with these guys.
