Strange truck

There's a load posted that says a liftgate is needed on both ends. I've seen plenty of trucks with a liftgate on the back of the trailer, but I've never seen one on the other end of the truck. Is this something new?

Reminds me of the signage on the doors of Schneider containers: FOR INTERMODAL USE ONLY.

I'd say it's in case the load get's transferred, as many carriers do.... making sure the truck picking up AND the one delivering have lift-gates. I've picked up transfer loads where the receiver was expecting dock high, etc... and someone missed that in the notes. Had to break down and restack a load of magazines on a dock, small boxes of bolts etc.. fun stuff.

Yup. Had to deliver a load to a company where all access roads to them had signs posted "No trucks over 5 tons". We used both lift gates to drop the load on the pavement next to the sign. As if that weren't bad enough, on the next load a sign was posted that read "speed limit enforced by aircraft". Had this twin-engine airplane pull up beside us and write me a ticket for leaving my front lift gate down and doing 5 mph less than the posted speed..................

Better make sure you truck is topped off on pneumatic fluid.

Have you changed the air in your tires lately?

How bout them muffler bearings?

Up until a few years ago diesel exhaust fluid would have fit in nicely to your list.

And everyone is checking their blinker fluid during pre/post-trip inspections right? Thats where alot of drivers are cited for infractions by Mr. DOT.
