Sitting in my truck the wind is blowing so hard it feels like an elephant is pushing the truck around, serious gusts up to 66 MPH have been occurring pretty regular as High wind alerts were active after 5 pm, watching the flag pole at the McDs restaurant it looks like any minute its going to bend and break....its not raining here now , but were right on the edge of the snow line as temps are dropping....

Was blowing hard enough last night at the Ohio MI border on 75 that I just pulled into the hook for the night. Rocked most of the night in the wind, then the icy rain started. Warmed up enough in the morning it was just rain, not quite as windy.

A few abandoned cars, some hydro planing on the interstate, a freshly jackknifed TT (I-75 SB mm 136?), and ice/slush/snow on the ground in various capacities depending on wind pattern, I suppose.

Just pulled into the hook at the 135 and the overall spirit in the truck stops is almost holiday like; it's as if people are relieved the first winter blast is actually here, or that they know (hope) that it will get better before it gets worse and really settled into winter.

It's brought the CB alive like I haven't heard in years.

Just heard there's a rollover north of Cinti on 75 at the 16(?) that's causing problems too.

I took a load from Chippewa Falls, WI to Brownstown, MI last night. Everything was great in WI as it was temps in the lower 50s and for me Tshirt weather and a light breeze as I walked into the rest area. Got to Chicago and the wind started to pick up a bit. Got to the bottom of the lake before you get to Gary , IN and that's when the winds really picked up. It was hold onto the steering wheel with the death grip til I got to Brownstown. Got to the delivery and was getting pelted by driving winds and sleet. Three doors later I found their receiving office. Ugh
