Too lazy to read the Wiki....for now, but remain in awe of the blackbird. There's one parked at the air museum just outside Eglin/Hurlburt complex in FL that I have pics of...somewhere.

I very vividly recall having specs drilled into our head in basic training (the SR-71 was still a very active bird then). Did you know that the ****pit stayed closed for up to 9 hours after flight to allow for contraction to normal size due to the severe heat and expansion during flight?

Did you also know that the bird had to be refueled almost immediately after takeoff?

Looks like I have a challenge in the photo department. I need to step up my game....clearly.
