I don't know that they are going up again but when I signed up it was $9.95 and when the Howard deal got underway it went up to $12.95.

I find it amusing that a big mouth facist like Rush Limbaugh(drug addict, truth fabircator and generaly unseemly charector))can be held to some other standard then Howard Stern.I happen to find them both boring and just out for themselves.
Let's remember the First Amendment. It seems to be under attack on many fronts these days.We have a choice. It just depends on which big mouth point of view you wish to tune into.
God bless America and our freedom to express or listen or CHANGE THE CHANNEL !!!!!!

I have four children between the ages of 15 and 18, I am a father of some great children. I have filtered many things from my girl's over the years, that is my job as a parent, not the governments. I am a confirmed Catholic. I am a U.S. Army veteran (----Airborne---). I HAD TO GET Sirius. Because any celeberty, government offical, or homeless person, that is willing to stand up to the overly intrusive Goverment, I will support. The land of the free is going away, because of the intolerance of the many. I greatly respect those people that have canceled their subscriptions to Sirius because of Howard Stern, that is their right in a free market. I might add that they could have just not tuned in to this chanel that would of also sent a message. Like it or Hate it, I think that Mr. Stern could have toned down his show and stayed on free air waves, for more money, with over 20 million listeners. Sweet as his deal seems it is to a much smaller market < 4 million subscribers and ?? actual lisiners . :p

Just as a little financial sidebar to Sirius - I invest in stocks and options and a buddy bought a bunch of options when Sirius first announced Stern coming over. The price skyrocketed, and he sold the options for a nice profit.

When I asked how come he didn't hang onto the options longer, he said research is showing Sirius is going to have to literally double their subscriber base to show a profit! The down side is they have to alternately cut overhead costs - probably why they dropped FOX.

And last week I saw that Stern filed paperwork to be able to sell off his stock options he received as part of his deal with Sirius. It would seem that if you thought the company was viable and growing, you would hold the stock for a while to let it yield more profit. Now it looks like the Eagles song 'take the money and run'.

I think part of the reason Stern may have exercised some of his options is to generate some income. If all of your compensation is in the form of stock you have to sell some of it from time to time to pay the bills.

On a more general note, I think satellite radio overall is the best thing to come along in a long time. Overall, for an over the road driver it is just an enormous improvement over AM and FM radio.

What will be interesting, I think, is to see who the next big name will be to come over to satellite.

As far as subscribers go, I think that in the long run about the same percentage of homes that have cable television will have satellite radio, considering the amount of time that most people spend in their cars. That's just my opinion, but if it's true that would mean about 10 times as many subscribers as XM and Sirius have right now.

I chose to get the lifetime subscription to Sirius, which I think will be a good investment.

Oh yeah, the "Big 8". How about Keener 13, ##### Purtan in the morning on WXYZ with bits like Chicken Man- He's everywhere, he's everywhere!

Frisco, from what I've read, the stock Howard got was in addition to his salary. It was a bonus if Sirius reached an agreed upon number of suscribers.

OH COME ON!!! His first name is Richard!!!

Recent financial reports from both XM and Sirrius are available. Short story: Both are spending more money than they are taking in, in an effort to recruit programming pull and expand their subsrciber base.
