State Parks?

Well, finally we got laidover with a decent load picking up on Monday. We'd been told that we could get into State Parks and that the people that told us had never been turned away. I finally convinced HoneyPie to take me fishing at a State Park. So, we researched it on the web and found something where there were truck routes in and out and FISHING! We got up early all ready to a relaxing day sitting by a lake doing a little fishing and barbaquing. We drove 45 miles and there right at the entrance was the infamous sign "NO TRUCKS" and a cop right behind us just waiting for us to turn in.

So, if you're ever in the Scranton, PA area do not waste your time trying to go to Tobyhanna State Park.

How has everyone else's luck been? How often do you make it all the way to a State Park only to see the "NO TRUCKS" sign?

I usually ignore the no truck signs, but I am in a straight truck. When I see those they usually mean tractor trailers (my interpretation, doesn't mean I am right)

Only after they write the ticket do you know what they mean. Even most of the ticket writers dont know. They scratck their heads when you point out that a Toyota MiniP/U is a truck. They still scratch when askked the GVW in the regulation.

As to state parks. Best to call ahead and ask. I allways say I have a small sleeper berth truck, same size as an RV. 33' Length. So far I have been welcomed in WV andGA state parks.

I gotta agree with you Dakota,in fact I have a saying that if I paid attention to every no truck sign I wouldn't get anywhere.

Also, our trucks are probably lighter then the garbage truck that drives down that same road.

I was pulled over in Indiana for speeding, our speed limit signs are split. Trucks over 13 tons have to go slower, I am under 26000
So I didn't get the ticket, it was an inconvience all the same

Also, my truck is actually classified as a delivery van, so I could fight the truck thing LOL
