I think it would be nice to add a motorhome parking area, not justfor motor home but for the vehicles that can 'hook' up to electricity. off couse a small fee for 1 night parking.

they are not going to ADD any more spaces, it will be on the expense {& expenses} of TRUCK parking. the Gary stairs are the worlds busier trucks traffic corridor. good luck finding a place to stop a rig after 9pm.
& that fee won't be {or stay} SMALL.
funny how the 'State-of-the-Art Truck Stop' do not provide for sure power, nor LNG/CNG, Evehicle plug in ports, or reefers hookup's. {but they will provide for the worlds oldest occupation hookup...}

Gary has always been a shaky spot to stop and pick up freight, I used to get in there and get Steel or Bridge parts and our company had a local drop yard that was automated, closed up at 9 Pm, I spent the nite once...ONCE...after dark the gunshots got closer and closer and the tires squealing and cars and bikes racing or being chased by the PD....I was awake all night listening to a underpaid and understaffed police force attempt to keep a lid on a city gone mad....a little corner food stop that had JAIL BARS across the chefs area, served great food, I came back one week it was burned to the ground, Picking up huge over size steel fabricated and then getting back out to the big road was always a crazy drive, crazy cars with thumping cars stereos weaving all over, running stop signs and basically ignoring any traffic control device....Ya Gary....if they dont have armed guards I give that place a couple weeks before the first strong arm robbery...concertina wire, 12 foor electrified fences and three legged ITS that say there women outside the fence wont do much to make me wanna stay there.

We stopped there the other day...the building is beautiful. My only complaint is that all the parking is away from the building. In nice weather it's a great walk...in pouring rain or snow not so much. That being said, we all know that truckers will "use" the parking lot instead of walking 3 ft to the building and with the parking so far from the building that great walk in nice weather will be a smelly walk pretty quick.
