You can make do with an 18' box but I wouldn't go out in a day cab. The road is hard enough with a good sleeper. We have an 18' truck running for us and there is a good amount of freight that fits. That truck also has a decent sized sleeper. With that said, a larger box will get you more load opportunities and more money on those larger loads.
