And it only takes one time to mis-shift a manual and mess that up. Its all about using your common sense.
Its only overweight because the sticker on the door sais it can handle so many lbs. Every car, truck, boat is underrated. My wave runner is rated at 338 Lbs. Thats me and fuel. Why did they make it a 2 seater?
I will only pick up a 5k load if it pays well. minimum of $1.50 per mile. anything under I wont touch and stick to smaller loads. Yes It will stress the drivetrain a bit more but not as much as pulling a trailer half the weight.
Thats why I said before that I would get a 3500 and modify the suspension on that.

Tell me do you have manufacture notes, manuals, etc that say its okay to overload a Sprinter2500 or 3500 ???? I bet they would not honor your warranty if they could prove your over loading it but your choice to tear up your truck

Nope, manufacturer will not honor warranty repairs for overloading a Sprinter.

Case in point.....Here is a Sprinter owner that put air bags on his Sprinter, ran loaded at 10K lbs, his own confession, cracked his frame doing so, and spent $3200 on repairs he caused himself.

I guess ... Maybe it isn't the suspension that one has to worry about but rather the rear axle.

With that said, what company allows someone to put 5k in a van?

Dang! We rarely put 5k in our 20ft straight.
Just because you "can" doesn't mean you "should". :eek!:
