SPRINTER Rear-Ends Semi at Full Speed

I'm surprised the car driver walked away. It looks like the Sprinter took the brunt of the damage.

Good Gawd........

See the damage on that Sprinter!! It hit a vehicle half its size, and probably half its weight loaded like that. And, it suffered twice the damage. Sheeezzzz..........

Dang lucky it wasn't a "Semi" he hit. If he would've hit a vehicle 5 times its size, and 20 times heavier, that would've been like slamming into an immovable concrete wall and the rescuers would've been using tweezers and pliers to extracate driver from that Sprinter.

Justifies and strengthens my belief that those things are just thin tin cans and are very very unsafe when it comes to collision damages and harm to the driver in wrecks such as this.

The original TV news story said the van rear-ended a semi during a period of slow traffic, in a construction area. Even showed the rear of the semi on the original newscast!

WOW, you sure are picky! The van is still wrecked...no matter what!

Not that it would've mattered much, but the Sprinter has no front bumber. Nothing to protect ya in something like this. What looks like a bumber is nothing but trim, two bolts in the center is the only thing that holds it on. Very bad design.

Oh, the Sprinter is so bad that if you run into the right swarm of bugs in Texas at high speed the same damage can occur. You know how thin soft drink cans are, right? There ya go.

That's exactly what happened a few years ago to a former Sprinter driver who hit a 20 MPH snow plow at 70 MPH. It was bad, really bad.

I can assure you it's not merely a belief, it's a stone cold fact. These vehicles are absolutely not made to be wrecked. It's quite the little motivator to be a good driver, totally aware of the other guy's driving as well as your own.

If you plan on wrecking a lot as an expediter, the Sprinter is not for you. Expediting is not just a job, its an adventure, and a Sprinter makes it an exciting one. :D

Well if you do plan on wrecking alot you might want to get a job in the bumper cars field instead of expediting:D

I don't really see any four wheel vehicle coming out well in a high speed crash into the back of a semi.

True I doubt an American van would would come out any better crashing into the back of a semi, they might be better crashing into another 4 wheeler but not anything bigger
