Hi

Don't know much about a Sprinter, but if it was a Ford I would be checking for air restriction or a bad clutch fan.

yes it did, broke in a hundred peices.I noticed my van getting louder and louder. Before I left the shipper I crawled under it and thought it was the muffler or a hole in the exshaust, didn't see anything.Headed for consignee and about three miles down the road the van just shut down.that was in elkhart IN.Had it towed to stoops in Indianapolis, got there at about 10:45pm I was told that they wouldn't be able to work on it till monday(its friday now) I talked to the service rep and told him that if he could work me in on saturday that I would give a fifty spot!!! I was on my way at 11:59 that same night, with a new flex plate and torque convertor!!! I gave him a c-note cause he saved me a motel bill and I was able to right back in service on saturday.:7 :7 :7 :7 P-MAN

The reason I asked about the flexplate is because the crankshaft position sensor works off the teeth on the flywheel and that controls injection timing. Don't know if it's possible to get the flexplate installed a little wrong (or maybe the crankshaft position sensor was damaged/bent when the flexplate blew up), but if your mileage problem started about the same time, might be a possibility.
