Sprinter Catalytic Converter

I am at Sprinter of Chicago for an "A" service. Engine light has been on almost 10,000 miles with no drivability problems.

I had the van at Sprinter of Pittsburgh and they spent the complete day trying to find problem. They did not find it and just reset it.

Chicago says it is the right side catalytic converter and are replacing it under warranty. They actual Had it in stock. They have seen this problem before.

Over $2000 if it was customer pay!

The tech said too much idling, but I really don't think so. I rarely idle.

Sounds fishy..but a good cop out for the tech...blame the driver!

We don't have that problem with the older models...too much idling usually creates a EGR problem with us....heck Turtle must idle 50% or better...

I am more leaning towards the DEF and DPF connection myself...the converter was never really a problem till 10 came out....
