Southern Frieght

I'm looking into picking up a straight truck, and was wondering if there are any companies that do much work in the southeast? I've worked for FedEx CC in the past, but it seems all there work is in the Ohio area. I live in coastal SC, and it was a killer always having to dead head hundreds of miles to get home. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

The nature of expediting hasn't changed much since you drove for FECC. If you go where the freight goes you'll do OK, but if you need to get home a lot then you need to live in the Midwest, or not be an expediter.

Get a hazmat and take FDCC's radmat course. You'll get to SC easily. Just be careful, the radmat team will want to trap you there.

I read somewhere that Nations Express operates primarily in the Georgia, Alabama, and Florida areas. I have also read on the forum that getting paid can be problematic. Due diligence.

I-85 corridor from Charlotte to Atlanta ought to be some good expedite country. I've done a lot of expediting over that way in TT. Expedite is not a Midwest only thing. But living on coastal SC you'll definitely be eating some deadhead. Might be better to move away from there.
