I usually don't ask this kind of a question, But does anybody have knoweldge about SOS Express.

I have seen a few of their trucks drive by going the other way and could not catch a location or phone number.
I have done an internet search and the best I can come up with is a courier company in Saginaw, Mi.

Thank Yew.

Ragman,
When I ran expedited freight out of Atlanta, back in the 90's, I came across a company SOS (Special Order Service) out of north Georgia. I think they were based out of either Dalton, GA., or Chattanooga, TN. That maybe the company trucks you've seen. When I get a chance I've got a few of their business cards, and will pm you their info, the info might be old but its a start. I believe the company was a division of Pinson Express.

There is an S.O.S. Logistics, Inc. based in Libertyville, IL. They show 5 Tractors, 2 straights and 1 cargo van currently. They broker a lot of freight to other Alliance members.

For sure there are several SOS' haulers... usually when it's about a popular name, there will be more "users", the difference it's made by the second name, express, expedited, transport, co, inc...

Ragman,
I'm at my office in St. Charles, IL and am going through my business card file. I found the company S.O.S. Special Order Service. I have four different cards from the President to 3 different Account Executive aka their version of Sales Reps. The address shows two the president shows a p.o. box out of Dalton, GA and the Sales people show a p.o. box out of Atlanta and one out of College Park, GA. *College Park is a suburb of Atlanta and alot of the freight forwarders have offices there as its next to the airport. I'll pm you the info I have or better yet will try to scan the business cards and then email the info to you if you like....just let me know. SOS is a division of Pinson Express. I found a business card for a Pinson Air Freight based out of Chattanooga, TN Bill Pinson is president have his card too.
*Again not sure how accurate the numbers or addresses are but maybe it will help with your project.

You know it amazing the amount of company's that ship freight. I find customers from Logistics company's shipping for everyone from Schneider Logistics thru a warehouse own by another logistics company. It's no wonder people put freight out for bid, by the time it's shipped it's gone thru 3-4 company's.
I picked a load up outside of Indy by the airport that was stored at a warehouse for Schneider and shipped by Fed Ex. It was electronics. I had 3 different set of shipping papers by the time I was loaded. Then it went to up state N/York to a small company that assembles the parts for Office Depot. Man no wonder we get beat up on rates.

Purgoose you've got that right. Everyone has their hand in the pie. I just did some UPS jobs that, because of Memorial Day, they couldn't honor their two day guarantee. UPS brokered it to Pro Courier, who brokered to to Traum Trucking, who brokered it to my guy, who brokered it to me. Trickle trickle trickle...
