It's not like the kid brought a pipe or brass knuckles to school.
I agree with the mother's statement that the principal made the wrong call, but I don't agree when she said they're punishing her son for being a boy - my daughter is one of many 'girls' who enjoy shooting.
They're punishing him because 'zero tolerance' is unreasonable. Life isn't black OR white, but [as Robert Earl Keen said] shades of gray.
