With high paying jobs being plentiful and easily available it's no wonder the Walmart employees are thinking this way.

If they don't like what goes on at Walmart they should just quit working there and see if they can find a job somewhere else

I couldn't agree more, the problem with that is where the Wal Marts are located. They started out taking over small towns and wiping out the small business person. After accomplishing that where else can they go work?? Yes it works maybe in a big city but W/Marts are mostly in smaller communities.

One of their managers said this?

Sara Gilbert, a manager who was striking in Seattle, called in on her cell phone: “I work full-time for one of the richest companies in the world, and my kids get state health insurance and are on food stamps,” she said.

How does someone in management get these handouts?

Its easy, low pay , 3 to 4 kids, u get up 900 bucks a month in foodstamps, u have to play the game and its on the internet, look it up for foodstamps in your state and plug in the data. How do I know this?, my daughter does this, 4 boys, husband dead, makes less than 18,000 a year, yep it works and its legal.

Ok ...whatever..

No, not whatever. Small town America chose Walmart over their small town stores. Walmart has a better gimmick, plain and simple. Personally, I can't stand that gimmick, but I end up getting some groceries there, because they're down the street from my house.

Exactly, many won't admit that the responsibility falls on the American people. If workers refused to staff the stores then Walmart would have to raise pay and benefits to stay in business. This would cause product prices to come up a little which would mean the small stores could be more competitive, stay in business, and employ more people. Instead you have somebody whining about how much a company makes rather than focusing on the real problem, themselves.

Ok whatever...you just said you go there because there down the street...probably cheaper than your local mom and pop grocery...wal mart is more convenient than going to 5 stores..to do the same thing..they know all of this and build there stores in the correct places....they bring CHEAP all in 1 shopping to small towns and run out the little guy..of course people will go there..you do...so...whatever...

Short of free stuff from the government, Walmart is the only private company to benefit the low income and people in poverty afford a slightly higher standard of living. They didn't do a lot for small town America, but there is another side to consider.

Maybe for awhile, but not so much anymore. Their prices are pretty close to Meijer on a lot of things. Methinks that was their plan all along... lure in a customer base, and raise the prices once they're hooked.

That is probably true. But they may have dropped prices enough to bring their competition along so prices are cheaper than years past. Just a guess.

Walmart was becoming known for cheap crap from China, and their cheap clientele, thanks to their "Always low prices. Always" slogan.

Notice the new slogan, and the somewhat higher quality of most of their merchandise, "Save money. Live better."

They went with the ""Save money. Live better" slogan when the "Hey, China doesn't use THAT much lead" slogan didn't really work out. :D
