When I learned to drive [in Ohio], we took our cars to a big snowy parking lot and spun them out on purpose - besides being fun, it took the panic factor out of an unexpected loss of traction so we could focus on regaining control. I hoped skid pad training would be something like that for a truck.

we do that down south in a big parking lot too when it snows or my front yard, its a blast. PS I have seen Ms Red do the above on I 75 , a 360 in a straight truck is some kind of driving IMHO. just kidding......................

back in 60's in lowville, ny we had skid area at the fairground
in winter they had old driver ed car , driver's ed teacher would say take it up to 50mph and he would put you in skid and you would have to put the class room training in to practices
than after a few year's they stop it as someone thought
it was to much for students handle
and you could take family car and practices to
