I don't know about the cargo van but FedEx runs us hard when we get out there. Not profitable for us and the truck we have. A "D" unit with a bare bones sleeper and lift gate. Government clearences is the ticket out there. Last time we were out there we ran load after load, at $600-800 per day. Short runs. High per mile. Just no where to stay. If I lived there I would take them all. The area does not fit our needs but there is work for the right truck and situation. Layoutshooter
Thanks,Your response was helpful.I didn't understand what Type of vehicle you recommended.I have a class "a",so any vehicle is an option. Thanks in advance
That is the size of the truck. A cargo van is a "B" truck. A "C" truck can handle loads up to 5000lbs. i have a " d" truck, I have 20' o uasable box space. I can scale 18,000lbs. You would have to be White Glove etc. A liftgate and pallet jack is needed. Will you be a team? Mant of these loads require dual driver protection. layoutshooter
I have a history of being a contractor with fedex Home delivery,so getting on shouldn't be a problem.Just for clarification, what does white glove mean and what sie vehicle do you recommend?A Big Box truck? Thanks
A truck that can handle a minimum of 5000lbs and at least 16ft of usable cargo space. That would cover 90% of the loads of which I speak. My truck can handle anything up to 18,000lbs. I normally can give 20ft of space but can re-arrainge my shelves and provide up to 22ft if needed. White Glove is FedEx elite services. We handle frieght, do inside pick up and delivery. Uncreate and take away the creats. We have hand trucks, 4 wheel furniture dollies and a pallet jack. We have a liftgate. We also have Dept of Defense security clearences. Most of the loads I am speaking of require that and dual drivers. Hope this helps. Layoutshooter
