So This is the Slow Time of Yr....

We have heard it all last month in more then one thread..."It is slow, then is no freight, and what freight there is is cheap and the rates are crap..." Well I hope it stays this slow...better yet, if this is slow, we are in for a great yr....

From Jan 3rd till Feb 8th, I ran 26 loads...9384 Loaded miles...1798 DH miles for a total of 11182 total miles...made $1.26 for all Loaded miles and $1.06 for All miles for a total of $11,853.89...All in a lowly CV...All of these #'s are from the Fleet vison so they are what they are....and I'll show them to anyone that thinks its BS.....

Now I am not bragging, because I know I am not the top producer at Load 1....just pointing out that if you do this right, and your with a company that is working to make good on their goals, your dispatch is working to find all available freight and you run like you have set your goals to be successsful....you can be.....

Thanks John, Load 1 and Dispatch.....

Oh , I had a conversation yesterday with one of our very "in the know" dispatchers and it was pointed out that if i was in a "sprinter" type van, i'd be making more on a consistent basis then I have now....looks like a new Van might happen faster then the end of summer.....

I'm not sure the "slow" applies to everyone. We have been very steady since the first of the year and rates have been pretty decent. I think some, including myself just don't mention it very often. But it does seem like it is going to be a good year if looking at whats happened so far.

Chef,
Keep me posted as to what type of van you choose. Jack sent me a PM that Rev's ride is a really good deal and its all set up for expediting......but right now can't make the jump to expediting fulltime, I need to catch up financially to where I was prior to me being laid off for almost two years.

Speaking of slow.....*LOL*

Went to Rapid City yesterday...took the wife to Red Lobster and spent the night in a motel....

Had new glow plugs and controller put in, fuel filter...had 110,000 miles on the old one....and changed out the fuel line to injectors just because it was original and it was getting real brittle...so good thing I did it....

THEN....went to pick up wife at motel with her NEW pickup....
Metallic Black 2010 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 5.7 Hemi 4x4.....thought she was going to faint....*lol*

Happy Valentines JuJu!...beats a box of chocolates..:D

I havent hit any slow times yet knock on wood. Panther has had me something almost everyday including weekends which was rare before. Only time I sat was for 2 days in Denver but then moved and picked up a load in Kansas. Cant beat staying busy and moving. Im at 6300mi for a 30day average. Although I been busy almost everyday and taking loads I havent had any home run loads 1000mi+ besides the one out west. I wish they could get me one a week and I will be extremely happy. :D

Hmmm I believe it was YOU that posted the YOUR carrier , the LEADER in this industry was offering you LESS then the $1.26 that i made for my loaded miles in a CV and you are in a ST......

At least that was what you posted here...

http://www.expeditersonline.com/forum/general-expediter-forum/41822-1-20-mile-expedite-freight.html

If they are still getting load offers at the Fed for .70 to 1.20 for all miles as posted, your van gig would look attractive. But if they keep the straight, they can third party those same loads for closer to 2 dollars all miles and not have to respond to multiple load offers.

Its a little to early to forecast the entire year.
BUT, i am off to a great start, even with being down for 5 days
with tranny and reefer repairs.
$1.26?????
isnt that cost of an USAToday?:D
