Dear Kenneth Amor,
We are concerned that recent US legislation, in its current form, may make it near impossible for us to continue to offer our prescription drugs to Americans.
A new bill in the US Senate called PROTECT IP defines all the medicines that we send to our customers from our pharmacies in Canada, England, and Singapore as "adulterated or misbranded" because they are not approved by the US Food and Drug administration. As our main function at Jandrugs is to help Americans like you find more affordable medication from other countries—that are approved by those respective countries—this bill would classify Jandrugs.com as an "infringing" website. If Jandrugs.com is classified as an infringing website we could lose our ability to cash US bank checks, bill US registered credit cards, send e-mails, and host a website that can easily be accessed by Americans. In short, all our business would have to be done by phone and money orders, significantly increasing our cost of doing business and reducing our service levels.
There are some good aspects of this bill designed to regulate pharmacy on the Internet that we support. Most of the act deals with things like online piracy of movies, video games, music and the like. We have no issue with these efforts.
If you believe that you have a right to safe and more affordable medications from companies like Jandrugs we encourage you to click the banner below which will help you send a message to your Congressman, Senator, and President. In fairness, we don't expect US politicians to care what a small Canadian pharmacy thinks, but they certainly do care about what US voters like you think!
We encourage you to copy and post this message on the internet wherever you think it will help get more signatures on the petition.
We sincerely appreciate your business and hope that we can continue to assist with your medication needs long into the future.
Kind regards,
Lori Janeson, Pharmacy Manager, Owner and Founder
and the Jandrugs Team
