Dear Kenneth Amor,
We are concerned that recent US legislation, in its current form, may make it near impossible for us to continue to offer our prescription drugs to Americans.

A new bill in the US Senate called PROTECT IP defines all the medicines that we send to our customers from our pharmacies in Canada, England, and Singapore as "adulterated or misbranded" because they are not approved by the US Food and Drug administration. As our main function at Jandrugs is to help Americans like you find more affordable medication from other countries—that are approved by those respective countries—this bill would classify Jandrugs.com as an "infringing" website. If Jandrugs.com is classified as an infringing website we could lose our ability to cash US bank checks, bill US registered credit cards, send e-mails, and host a website that can easily be accessed by Americans. In short, all our business would have to be done by phone and money orders, significantly increasing our cost of doing business and reducing our service levels.

There are some good aspects of this bill designed to regulate pharmacy on the Internet that we support. Most of the act deals with things like online piracy of movies, video games, music and the like. We have no issue with these efforts.

If you believe that you have a right to safe and more affordable medications from companies like Jandrugs we encourage you to click the banner below which will help you send a message to your Congressman, Senator, and President. In fairness, we don't expect US politicians to care what a small Canadian pharmacy thinks, but they certainly do care about what US voters like you think!

We encourage you to copy and post this message on the internet wherever you think it will help get more signatures on the petition.

We sincerely appreciate your business and hope that we can continue to assist with your medication needs long into the future.

Kind regards,

Lori Janeson, Pharmacy Manager, Owner and Founder
and the Jandrugs Team

The entire of idea for Obama care is to put private insurance and pharma out of business and put in a single payer plan and a government controlled pharma industry. Prices for everything related to health care are going up, just as predicted and planned for. It is all about CONTROL and nothing else.

Naw, you get "Purple Haze" from drinking far too much Purple ........." Nasty stuff.

12 quarts of gin, 12 quarts of vodka and 24 quarts of Welchaid. Then you put in about 20 pounds of grapes and let it "steep" for a few days.

You'd need a really big glass, well 2 of them to share with a "loved" one...if it provides the same affect as the "blue haze"....;)

No glasses, it was mess kit cups, the aluminum ones. You just dipped your cup in and filled up. No "loved ones" around, just a barracks full of fired up GI's!!

The rest of what happened cannot be posted in here without getting banned for longer than life!!

This crap again?

Congress is still at it and the people who need to complain about congress not fixing problems - the voting public - again are doing nothing but sitting on their hands.

OH come on Layout, this has been going on with every administration since TR. The problem is there is no problem with drugs acquired over in Canada, the UK, or even Japan or the EU IF it comes from a legit pharmacy. The standards for testing (WHICH A LOT OF IT comes from the studies done here) can be stricter in say Japan than here.

Actually it is the opposite.

Under Bush, he listened to the pharma as part of the "part D" medicare rip off and they wanted harsher enforcement at the border for those who go to Canada and Mexico to get their scripts filled. It got so ridiculous that they actually arrested a bunch of seniors who took a bus over to Canada when they discovered all of them filled their scrips in Windsor.

Under Obama's administration, they've backed off a bit.

I think it is actually MORE about the drugs then then movie piracy and stuff....

JuJu's Januvia is like 600 bucks here compared to 200 across the border....

Yeah, arresting little old ladies off the bus from the Canadian pharmacy was a PR nightmare - now they can just scare them off, labeling the medications "misbranded' or 'adulterated'.
Once again, big business wins, 'the people' lose.

Well Cheri, there is a lot more to the story than meets the eye. Many don't get that AARP has been helpful in shaping the national policy about drugs, they seem to be in with the Pharma companies to limit the access and they surely had a hand in the Part D mess.

Then we have the other issue of the people not fighting for the right information about how drugs are made and what standards are used, like the fact that the drug made in China or Vietnam that is destined for Germany or Canada is the same exact drug that is made in China or Vietnam destined for the US market under our rather oblique FDA rules.

I would love to see the harassment and intimidation end soon.

AARP is big business too.

I don't believe they'd make use of the information [how drugs are made] if it were available, but they'll sure catch the "misbranded or adulterated" part. Scare tactics are a poor way to govern people.

I would love to see the harassment and intimidation end soon.

Me too! [The DOT blitz ends in 45 minutes.]

Oh the legal world is a web indeed....most of what we order comes from an Asian/ME country and gets routed thru Germany, relabeled and then unto the US...because of certain US laws....

Now if we just matched Canada's generic laws we'd be ok...but I suppose the pharma campanies have too many politicians in their pockets here...:(

I order my "rescue" inhalers from a firm in India. The stuff retails for 148$ each, here in the US; I get it for 6.25$ each, from India. Even my pulmonologist approved!

Well if you do it thru the internet that will be no more if this bill goes thru...

Getting stuff from India is iffy, their is no laws to protect consumers there and their pharma laws are still from being in sync with ours. Until recently they didn't recognized US patents and Viagra was being made by some back yard companies and sold in Europe for a while because one of them patented the drug there first.
