Ok, I just shoveled about 300 square feet of 4-5 inches of snow off of the deck and the walkway. Snow was the fluffy light stuff, but does anyone have a clue as to how much it weighs?

If you have a kitchen scale or a postal scale, weigh an empty jar, take it out and fill it with the snow and weigh it again, and post the results then I'll have a good idea of what snow weighs to share with you. Without that info not a clue. :D

The "weight" of snow is determined by it's water content. The "wetter" the snow the more it weighs, the "drier" it is the lighter it is. There is no assumed weight for snow.

Is this one of those "Pie are round; cornbread are square" questions?

She told me: "Snow is like sex, you don't know how many inches your are getting or how long it will last"

Answers.com says: The weight of snow varies greatly. Light fluffy snow may only weigh about seven pounds per cubic foot. More average snow may weigh 15 pounds per cubic foot and drifted compacted snow may weigh 20 pounds or more.
