Snooty or Snotty Part III

Okay so I'm sitting at the house and I'm snotty as can be. My old goto Dayquil/Nightquil got reformulated a few years ago and the only thing it seems to do that the old formula did was/is leave a horrible taste in my mouth. Tried the Mucinex-D, and Robitussin Cough & Chest Congestion DM. They seem to be about as effective as a single ply Kleenex with a hole in the middle of it.
I have considered the old goto, a pint of whiskey and a blanket. What works for you?

Alka-Seltzer Plus cold in a shot glass, shoot it down will get you 7-8 hours of feeling good

Hot ginger brandy, first just inhale the fumes, that will clear out any plugged up nose. Then alternate between inhaling the fumes and drinking it as it cools till you can no longer stand. Then sleep for several days, or just sleep for several days. Sorry you are sick, that sucks. :(

I 1st thought it was about drivers who thinks they are better than others. Horseradish seem to work for me. May have bad breath until you get some mouth wash but it works and your nose is not all plugged up.

Maybe he could just, "snort" the horseradish? He could get "snorting" lessons from Turtle. Turtle "snorts" in here all the time, quite good at it too!!! :p

Lots and lots of fluids...along with the whiskey and a blanket ;)

If you do the whiskey right, no blanket needed...... Warm whiskey with a little lim-mon juice will make you feel better if nothing else.

coughcough...guess I better go try it now...coughcough..lol

So if I post some long rambling posts that are off subject, you know like the ones I'm noted for. You will know that Mr. Walker and I had a long smooooth ah, um, talk:D

Well Jackie and I have met a few times and I must say that he treated me pretty well while we were together. But he occasionally left me dry of mouth and throat in the morning.

In the tried and true words of that old Christmas tune:

Drink lots of fluids and: "let it flow, let it flow, let it flow ...."

Afterall, why suppress what is the body's natural reaction to a foreign invader ?

I'll admit - it's not the most fun way to deal with it, but I believe that it is the mechanism that Nature provided.

Jack or Maker's Mark - either will work well, and that drying out effect is beneficial to a certain extent. I had this crud that's going around for the first three weeks in Dec and hopefully it's gone for good. I found regular doses of the above prescription combined with plenty of other fluids works well; liberal use of Afrin nasal spray helps with breathing. The problem with today's over-the-counter cold remedies is that they've been weakened to the point of being next to worthless - however, some friends said Zyrtec-D worked well for them. Aspirin or advil for the aches/pains obviously is good, but don't mix Tylenol with Jack or any other adult remedies - bad for the liver.

You can still get the old formula Nyquil Dayquil, it's behind the counter at the local drug store and still has the psudefedrine(spelling), Sudafed is what I like for a cold with a tylenol chaser It does not make you drowsy a plus while driving :)
I also swear by Zycam for preventing the cold in the first place

I'm with ARLENT on this one: "Let it flow." If you want to speed up this process put your head in a microwave oven, low power for about 3 minutes. Always remove eyeglasses; ear, nose and lip piercings, fillings and metal plates. Bon appetit!

I would have thought that the dry heat of an conventional oven would work better. Besides removal of all my love beads and other ornaments wouldn't be necessary. Also my spiked orange cornrows would not melt as quickly.
