Smells like 'one world government' to me

I'm curious, why are people against a world government?

Who's rules are you going to be governed by? Egypt, Russia, China the list could go on and on. Why do we want to live under the control of another country that doesn't believe in the same freedoms we do. Then there is the issue of how do you bring all of the other countries up to our standards? The answer is they can't so they bring countries like the US and Canada down.

The larger/more centralized government gets, the more out of touch with the people it gets.

Given how out of touch Washington is with a 308 million plus populace, one can only imagine how insular one world government would be from 7 plus billion people.

"United States... you need to boost your production of wheat and corn, since China has a drought. BTW... cut your citizens' rations in half, since they're so fat, and give that to the Chinese too. The world needs labor, ya know."

That's why!

I really don't have a problem with a one-world government, as long as it's ours.

No, of course not. But if we were going to have a one-world government, I sure wouldn't want it to be that of anyone else's. ;)
