Yes. November is shaping up to be an unusually slow month for us.

Jeesh, its aways slow in Phoenix, thats why I moved back to Akron.I'm in a tractor, when freight is slow,it doesnt seem to get as bad for us,as the straight trucks.I just got reauthorized back into W/G yesturday, but we have been hauling more W/G loads lately than surface,of course they have been hazmat gbl's

I'm sitting at home in COL since last Wed. Was in good position in Charlotte, but had to come home for personal reasons... when I headed up here was only 2 vans.. by the time I checked in Wed... 9.. LOL.. my own fault to have to come home.. but still hurts the paycheck.

Amazing tho that I haven't moved yet, but load count way down.. for instance last Friday, 4 van loads out.. this week, none last time I checked.

Finally moved up to 3 in dwell after the weekend.. feel sorry for those sitting in their vans since Wed.

At least being home doesn't cost me anything!

I'm glad that it's not just been my imagination. It's been for about the last 3 weeks that we have been doing poopoo. Although, one of our friends somehow seems to be picking up the $4K loads consistently, which made me wonder if it was just my own dumb luck. We are TVal, yet have sat in Dallas, Houston, Phoenix and now Atlanta! We grabbed one of those surface expedite loads just to get out of Houston and got the same thing in Atlanta. We are set for a WG load outta here - but it doesn't move until tomorrow. That is something else I've been noticing - more loads being set up for the following day - which means we sit today.

That is the sense I am getting. The loads are still there. The shippers are still active. The pay is holding up (when you account for the lower fuel surcharge and lower fuel prices). What is different is we are sitting longer between loads and are not predispatched as often.

I expect there will be more of that as the recession deepens.

think the reason for less pre-dispatch is trying to keep the empty trucks loaded, instead of having a truck load close to where they empty out, believe they are dispatching empty trucks with longer dead heads to keep them moving,i may be wrong, has happened
