I've heard of ways to get a SiriusXM discount before, but never tried.
Wanting to cut some cost I looked at my 8 year old SXM subscription that I've been using less and less, and the price keeps going up and up. FYI-it's going up another $1 in November. My current full access plan with tax is $25.48 and was already hard to justify for essentially one program I listen to and it's not Howard Stern
Sure it's nice to have, especially being built into my stereo system, but come on man haha.
The only way to cancel (unless you freeze or cancel your payment source) is to call their "account specialist".
The poor sound quality and strong accent seemed like a direct call to India or some other overseas location.
My 1st attempted call was so bad we could not understand each other, I told him I'd call back and hung up.
2nd attempt was a better connection but with another heavy accent making conversation difficult.
Finally got my account verified with the reason for my call, and was placed on hold while they "reviewed my account".
I just grinned when she said that, knowing a discount was coming my way, but how much...
When she returned, I was not disappointed.
The offer was 1/2 off for 1 year. Since I really didn't want to cancel unless I absolutely had to, this was a acceptable offer.
I was surprised it was good for 1 year, longest I've heard of was 6 months, but the rate was also lower, so pretty much works out the same
I got a credit for this month, and it's being applied to next month already.
So I think it turned out pretty good
