Mom and Pop truck stops. Do they still exist?

What is the MINIMUM overall gross margin percentage needed to operate a Pilot or TA? I have NO idea. Anyone in here have experience in managing a truck stop? It would be an interesting figure to have.

I have no idea either. But factor in the average size (acres) for a truck stop, property tax, maintenance, convenience etc. compared to an inter-city fuel stop or convenience store and I'm sure their operating ratio is higher and hence their fuel prices.

For a full fledged gouge, buy fuel at an Illinois Tollway Oasis.
